Väljavõte oma märkmikust:
"PORKUNI: Lahkunud preili sise- ja välismaailm. Unenäolisus. Nihked reaalsuses ja ajas. Kummituslikkus. Jäljed, mille elus olles maha jätame ja mida mööda lahkununa sammume. Paiga müstiline aura läbi kaamerasilma ja hinge filtri. Võimatu loo võimalikud lahendid. Kokku jooksmine. Väljapääs. Ahastus. Üksindus. Viha, kurbus ja ilusad mälestused sulanduna üheks aimatavaks tervikuks. Introspektiivne."

Photo project done in June 2011. The starting point is a legend called "Lady of Porkuni"*. (take a look at F.R. Kreutzwald's "Estonian folk stories of old days" and ballad by Marie Under "Lady of Porkuni")
Extract from my sketchbook:
"PORKUNI: Inside and outside world of the departed spirit. Dreamlike. Shifts in reality and time. Ghostly. Traces we leave behind. Mystical aura of the place trough the filter of lens and soul. Possible solutions of the impossible story. Dead ends. Impasse situations. Anguish. Loneliness. Anger, sadness, and beatuful memories forming one abumbrative whole. Introspective."
Since i couldn't find anything about Lady of Porkuni in English, i try to make a short resume.
Lady of Porkuni. It's an old Estonian folk story trying to explain little floating islands on the lake Porkuni. The story is about a brother and a sister who supposedly lived in the castle of Porkuni. The brother was a soldier so he often had to be away from home. Her sister stayed home alone. Soon she found herself a man, who she fell in love with. One night she went to talk to her brother so she could marry her beloved one. The brother got very angry and asked to see the man. Then he cut down his head with his sword and dragged her sister to the lake. The brother hewed a hole into the ice and drowned her sister. The legend tells about small lights appearing on the lake Porkuni at night. It's the sister's soul who hasn't found any peace.
